French Fries to die for

Do you remember the best fries of your life?

For me this was traveling through France. I fell in love with their Pomme Frites. The style of crispy golden crunchy exterior and fluffy center that you dip into garlicky sauce. It was love at first bite! Honestly, this is probably the only time I longed for a traveling companion while I wandered through Europe. Fabulous food is so much tastier when shared with loved ones!

What makes the perfect crispy French fries?

We have a few secrets up our culinary sleeve at Ultimate Burger.

First you start with a big beautiful russet potato because they are high in starch. We hand cut each “Big Daddy” potato. The key to amazing fries is cooking them twice. The first frying is done at a lower temperature, which softens the potato without too much color. The second frying is for the golden color and crispy texture. However, the pièce de résistance is the house made sauce. We make our aioli from scratch with the best local ingredients we can source. The finishing salt and fresh herbs take these babies to the next level. Fresh thyme is my favorite herb to cook with. Did you know that thyme is full of healing nutrients? Thyme is packed full of vitamin C, vitamin A, copper, fiber, iron, and manganese. Definitely one of my go to cravings during the week. I love knowing that we got some super nutrient dense ingredients into our bodies. I smile when I see our keiki munching on these too. I feel like a ninja sneaking herbs into their diets when they aren’t looking. Super fun!
